18-16: Universal Loan Identifier (ULI) Can Now be Provided via Bulk Bid Tapes

03/22/2018

As announced in 17-55: New Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Rules, PennyMac requires the Universal Loan Identifier (ULI) on all loans closed on or after January 1, 2018.  As described in our previous announcement sellers can provide the number in the GoPennyMac.com portal at time of registration/lock of Best Effort loans or provide the ULI on the 1003, DIA or other ULI specific forms in the credit package at delivery.

Effective immediately sellers may also begin providing individual ULI numbers in their bulk bid tapes.  When the number is present and the data column header contains “ULI” the information will be pre-populated in the loan level registration detail.  To provide the ULI as part of registering loans allocated to assignment of trade commitments please contact your Sales Representative.

Providing the ULI at registration/lock or at file delivery is a critical activity to avoid unnecessary loan conditions and delays in the purchase process.

Please contact your Sales Representative with any questions.
